Wig Commission FAQ’s!

So you’re interested! Let’s talk about how my Commissions work!

I’ve compiled a few commonly asked questions, which have been answered below for easy access! Please also visit my Terms of Sale for my Professional Statement on my own terms of work! This is important.

Feel free to scroll through, and if you find yourself unsatisfied? Drop me a message in my Contact Me section linked below!

  • Every couple of months, I will open my Commissions 2-3 Slots at a time. I will endeavor to open for Commission Quotes for Two Weeks before the Slots officially open, which will allow time for me to communicate with everyone interested! During this time, I will research Wig bases and methods with potential clients, as well as consider Deadlines. This process will end in a finalized Quote so that when the Slots open up, Clients can directly request one knowing how the process and payment shall go.

The Quote can be gained through DM’s on Instagram, or through emails! The Slot is gained through applying in a Google Form which is released at the time of the Commissions being opened, where you shall enter your contact details and the wig you’ve received a Quote for!

  • Yes. I will not accept a Commission which I have not given my thought towards, to make sure I can make your Wig both to your preference in Wig base and final look, as well as it being a Wig I am sure I can complete.

  • Yes! However, Wig Commissions are not given on a first-come-first basis or a basis of personal preference towards the clientele. Wig Commission slots are given purely on the following aspects:

    1. Size of project! For example; a wig that would take a month against a wig that is considered smaller like a restyle or a miniature project, could either be prioritised or of lesser priority down to other factors, such as the following points.

    2. Availability of Wig bases and Materials! Some wigs I would love to create, however with recent stocking issues and general shipping issues for some companies, it may mean that the desired and decided upon Wig Base may be unavailable, which could effect the wig price and whether the Project could go ahead.

    3. Client’s deadline! If your Deadline is far in the future and can be worked into my plans, that could be considered something I would prioritize. The same goes if it's closer and I have a Gap! However, if your deadline clashes with previously decided Wig Commissions, it could be something that I can’t work around.

    4. My Current Scheduling! There could be a chance that I have an absolutely free schedule which opens me up for a lot more projects! And yet, it could also be that due to my planned schedules, that there could be a Clash!

I will do my best to consider each Wig Project equally, I love working with people to create!

  • My Wigs Generally range from £140 - 300+ entirely depending on what the Wig is! If I am making for a character who has a very simple style with no need for a lace front, you shall be looking more at the £140 price range, pushing towards £200 for more difficult styles. However, a Wig that would require more dedicated time spent and more expensive bases/materials could stretch more towards £200 - 300+.

For a more detailed breakdown of Price, look at the next Q&A.

  • The following factors make up my Quotes:

    • Wig Base and Wefts required (their shipping from the company to me included in said price)

    • Materials, such as Glues, Paints, foams, etc! There are lots of materials that go into Wig Craft.

    • Labour costs! The actual time it will take me to craft your wig from beginning to end. I work at £13.50 an hour, and styles can range from 5 Hours all the way up to 20 Hours! As a one-man-show, these Creations can take a lot of time.

    • Utilities and Fees! The smallest most predictable section. This covers usage of electricity and more, and any Paypal Fees. Usually about £15 at Maximum.

    • Packaging! To ensure the safety of your completed Wig, it is shipped on a Wig Head, on a removable cardboard tray, in a box big enough so that the Wig itself isn’t crushed down. Packaging is usually capped at £12, unless the Wig is going to be quite big, in which it could be £20 for extra security and size. For a better look at Packaging, visit my Commission Gallery which has a Packaging section.

    • Postage! A Completed Wig is always sent by Special Next Day Delivery (by 1 pm if by Royal Mail), to ensure it’s in transit as little as possible and to the Client as soon as possible. This is also usually capped at £12 (Royal Mail), unless the Wig is a large one, which could then stretch to £20 (Parcelforce).

  • I take Payments only Via Paypal. This protects the Payment for both me and the Client as I can take different types of installments through a Dedicated Invoice. This invoice is set up on acceptance of Commission so it is easily accessible for the Client at any given point. You do not need to worry about setting up any Payments yourselves, I shall do it for you.

I accept Payments in three different ways:

Full Payment on Acceptance. No explanation needed! The Client receives the Invoice, and Pays in full. Great!

Half Payment on Acceptance, Half on Completion. The full price is divided in two, with the first half paid on receiving the Invoice. The Second isn’t due until the Wig is complete!

An Agreed Payment Plan with Specific Payment Dates. The Payment is split into different Payments to be agreed on by me and the Client. The first Payment is at least the Price of the Wig Base and Wefts. No work shall be started until at least half the full amount is paid.

For Full Details on Payments, Refunds, Returns? Check my Terms of Sale.

  • Long and short answer, no, as every wig I create is Unique. There will never be two Wigs I make that are the same due to replication problems as well as there's a very high chance that the Wig was made to a previous Client’s specific requests. I will, however, make a Wig of that Character to your requests and wants! Let’s make something Unique that fits YOU.
